In Vitro Maturation (IVM)
Immature oocytes are collected from low stimulated ovaries under the guidance of ultrasound scans. These oocytes are then culture for 24-48 hours in incubator to become M II oocytes. Then ICSI method is performed to fertilize the matured oocytes.
In IVM, pregnancy rates are lower, so this method is performed for patients at risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) and those who are contraindicated in hormone use. It is also applied to save the immature oocytes collected for the ICSI process (when unexpectedly a significant number of immature oocytes are collected).
