Laser Hatching

Laser Hatching

There is a glycoprotein layer surrounding the plasma membrane of oocytes known as zona pellucida. Five days after the fertilization, with the help of enzymes secreted from the embryo and the wall of the uterus the blastocyst performs zona hatching; the zona pellucida degenerates and decomposes, to be replaced by the underlying layer of trophoblastic cells.

It’s suggested that Assisted hatching before embryo transfer, can help the embryo hatch from its protective outer shell, the zona pellucida and promote implantation in the uterine wall which can be performed by using acid, laser or mechanical methods. In Novin clinic, we use laser hatching technique to increase the chance of fertility and implantation.
