Sonohysterography (SIS)
In hysterosonography, by passing a soft small tube through the vagina, sterile saline fluid is infused into the uterus, providing a more detailed picture that improves the chances that abnormalities within the uterine cavity are detected . The diagnostic accuracy of this type of ultrasound is much higher than that of vaginal ultrasonography and at the level of hysteroscopy. The SIS is usually done between days 5-9 of your menstrual cycle.
